Emily completed a full time 4 year university BSc Honours degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the International College of Oriental Medicine (ICOM), which was affiliated to the University of Brighton. As part of this degree Emily also achieved a diploma in Therapeutic Massage.This degree teaches anatomy, physiology and western medicine in detail meaning that Emily understands the complaints people come to her with as well as knowing how their medication and western treatment fits into the picture. Emily believes that Acupuncture can compliment western treatment very well and feels it is important to look at the whole not just symptoms.
After years of personal success with acupuncture treatments Emily wanted to know more about the philosophies and workings of acupuncture as well as having a passion for helping others as she had been helped herself.
As a result of the degree Emily has also discovered an interest in fertility and focused her final year dissertation on acupuncture in relation to fertility. Emily also holds an interest in anxiety conditions and other female matters.
She also enjoys working with her cosmetic patients as she finds this process not only achieves aesthetic pleasure but has a deeply therapeutic benefit - both on the inside and the outside. Emily always combines her cosmetic treatments with well-being treatments to create an all round therapeutic experience. She enjoys using the gentle cleansing products on the skin both before and after treatment as well as creating a truly relaxing atmosphere with the fragrance of lavender and other therapeutic essential oils.
Emily is a compassionate and caring person whose focus is entirely on the patient and their best interests. Emily enjoys listening and always takes the time to answer questions and give her patients the best experience. She is committed to naturally better health. Emily is a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and abides by their high standards, Codes of Practice and Professional Conduct. The BAcC is the largest registering body of traditional acupuncturists in the United Kingdom.
