Acupuncture and Cosmetic Acupuncture...

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is based on principals that originated in the Far East over 2,000 years ago, which have since been developed and researched. The tradition of this therapy is about helping the body to naturally heal itself and work with the body's natural energy (Qi).

The aim of treatment is to work on the root cause of a problem as well as the main symptoms. Therefore, a full medical history is always taken and other forms of diagnosis such as pulse diagnosis are also used. Each patient's treatment plan is different as everyone has an individual constitution; we look at the whole not just the symptoms therefore the root cause of the same problem may be different for each person.

Acupuncture can be used to help relieve specific symptoms such as pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee. Some people choose to use acupuncture because they feel generally out of sorts and have no medical diagnosis for it while others choose to use it to help maintain a feeling of well-being. Acupuncture can be effective on a wide range of conditions and this form of treatment can fit well with modern day living as it can reconnect the areas of life that get disturbed by general life such as emotional, physical and mental aspects of being.

As each person is an individual the number of sessions varies, depending on the depth of the condition presented. Some choose to have regular sessions to help maintain general well-being.

The needles used during treatment are very fine, single-use needles and the points selected are based on the constitution and symptoms of the person.

Acupuncture treatments can also involve moxibustion (moxa), acupressure, magnets and massage to name but a few techniques we use to stimulate points and aid the body to heal and rebalance its natural equilibrium. Our techniques are therefore suitable for all ages including children; acupressure and massage are the common ways of treating children.

Acupuncture is a safe method of alternative treatment and can be safely used alongside other alternative therapies, conventional treatments and medication. If you have any questions on if acupuncture is suitable for you, what treatments involve or just want more information please contact Emily on 07815 898895, 01580 200020, [email protected] or [email protected]

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture is a non-surgical, less invasive and holistic rejuvenation treatment of the face, especially when compared to botox, fillers and cosmetic surgery. The face gives a reflection of our underlying health and who we are. Over time our expressions appear as lines and wrinkles and our complexion changes; day to day life can take it's toll.

The aim of treatment is to increase blood flow, collagen and elastane to the skin and muscles of the face by inserting specialist fine needles into the dermal layers of the face. Treatments can reduce the depth and appearance of wrinkles and lines, reduce puffiness and lift and tone the skin and muscles, to give a fresher looking complexion and colour. Cosmetic acupuncture can also be used to counter acne scarring and scar tissue as well as helping to tighten pores and improve skin hydration and elasticity.

Emily uses products made by acuRegen to prepare the skin before treatment as well as after treatment. For example, to remove any residue make up prior to treatment and to clean the skin after treatment, to leave patients feeling fresh.

The process also works on the underlying well-being and the facial treatment is always combined with a well-being treatment to keep the body in balance and support the facial work.

A course of 10 - 12 treatments is recommended and by the 6th to 7th week improvements can become visible and be measured. Maintenance treatments are recommended to maintain the effects and this can be booked as often as is liked by the patient but it is recommended that maintenance treatments are made every 1 - 3 months.

We now offer a loyalty card whereby if you have 10 cosmetic treatments you get you 11th FREE!

(Please note that this offer excludes the initial consultation and treatment)

The main course of cosmetic treatment can be paid for in instalments - first five treatments payable at the first consultation and the remainder paid on the sixth treatment.
